Samsun Clock Tower
Overview
Abdulhamid II, who came to the throne in 1876, sent an instruction to the governors in 1886, the tenth anniversary of his accession to the throne, and ordered clock towers to be erected in cities. Since the clock tower was damaged due to the earthquake in 1944, it started to be dismantled in 1948 and a new one was built in 1977. In 2000, it started to be reconstructed to resemble its original state and took its current form.
