Bodrum Castle and Underwater Archeology Museum
Overview
In 1402 St. Saint Peter's Castle, which was started to be built by the Knights of Jean and completed in 1522, was built using the stones of the Mozeleum, which were plundered by the knights. There are French, Italian, English, German and Spanish towers in the castle. During the construction of the castle, the Papacy issued a "Papal Decree" and reserved a place in heaven for those who worked on its construction. The castle was used as a prison until 1915 during the Ottoman period.
